Rittz – Questions 2012

September 7, 2012

Rittz – Questions 2012

Producer: QDIII

Album: Unreleased

Label: Slumerican

As described in the Strange Music boss’ recent video announcement, Tech N9ne‘s recent decision to sign Booth fave Rittz was motivated as much by his personal respect for the ATL rhymesayer’s mic skills as it was by his business savvy. Likewise, Rittz had long been a fan of Tech’s dating back to the first time he heard the Kansas City underground mainstay on Gang Related soundtrack inclusion Questions (Rough Draft). Thus, it could hardly be more appropriate that the White Jesus rapper celebrates the beginning of their working relationship with a reimagining of the aforementioned joint. Making its world premiere right here in the Booth, Questions 2012 finds the emcee lacing QDIII‘s original boardwork with a quick verse describing some of his least favorite listener queries. While this dope homage is just a one-off release, those digging it can stay tuned for all the latest as the Booth fave settles into his new home.

Greg Grease – Rip Well

August 12, 2012

Greg Grease – Rip Well

Producer: Mic Titan

Album: Cornbread’s Coming Series

Label: Unsigned

Hailing from the Southside of Minneapolis, emcee Greg Grease describes himself as a “producer by day” and “sh*t talker/MC by night.”  While I’m sure Grease’s sh*t talking is on point, you won’t find any of that on his Mic Titan-produced DJBooth debut.  On Rip Well, the River Life Media artist doesn’t shy away from keeping it real, sharing his convictions on the inner-city violence that is plaguing America on the latest entry in his Cornbread’s Coming series.  The dual-threat reflects on those who he’s lost, rapping, “Send ‘em to the surface where your friends don’t speak, but cry wondering why they had to take ya life.” Expect more of the same on Grease’s forthcoming full-length, Cornbread, Earl & G, projected to be released this fall
