Earl is the debut studio album by Earl Sweatshirt, member of the OFWGKTA rap collective. It was released as a free digital download on the OFWGKTA website.[3] The album features production by BeatBoy and fellow OFWGKTA members Tyler the Creator and Left Brain.

Lyrically, the album is often obscene, typical of the works created by OFWGKTA and its members, which is particularly notable because Earl Sweatshirt himself was 16 years old at the time of this release.[4]

Upon its release the album was met with much interest and general acclaim on the web. Pitchfork Media called the album “mesmerizing”.[5] Underground music blog Altered Zones listed Earl as one of their top 20 albums of 2010, praising the album for its ferocity and for making “some of the most vile verses sound eloquent”.[6] Music site Gorilla vs. Bear listed it at number 12 in its list of the 30 best albums of 2010.[7]

The music video for the title song was released on YouTube on July 26, 2010. As of April 20, 2011, the video has more than 2.5 million views.
